Additional Services, also known as accessorials, are optional services selected based on specific pickup, delivery, or shipment requirements. These services go beyond standard transportation and may result in additional carrier fee.
Each additional service includes an info icon (ℹ). By clicking this icon, the service definition and applicable guidelines will be displayed to help you understand when and why the service should be selected.

Site Services
Site Services apply when the pickup or delivery location has special access requirements or operational constraints.
Lift Gate: required when a location does not have a loading dock. A lift gate allows freight to be raised or lowered between the truck and the ground. Additional carrier fees apply.
Construction Site: considered a limited access location. May lack a dock, require coordination with a site foreman, or special equipment. Carrier surcharge applies.
Hotel: hotels are limited access locations. Drivers often must check in at the front desk and coordinate delivery, which may cause delays and added fees.
Inside: applies when the driver must go beyond the dock or front door to pick up or deliver freight. Additional time and fees apply.
Limited Access: applies to locations with restricted entry such as hospitals, farms, prisons, government buildings, or storage facilities. Additional charges apply.
Residential
Used when shipping to or from a private residence or a business located in a residential area. Additional carrier fees may apply.
School: schools, colleges, and universities are limited access locations. Deliveries often require check-in with staff or security and may incur surcharges.
Appointment Pickup: used when a four-hour pickup window cannot be provided. Appointments are scheduled during business hours (08:00–17:00).
Appointment Delivery: used when a four-hour delivery window is not available. Delivery time is coordinated with the consignee during business hours (08:00–17:00).
Delivery Notification: applies when the carrier must notify the consignee before delivery. This does not guarantee a delivery time.
Sort and Segment: used when freight must be separated into multiple orders or shipments. Cannot be used to consolidate shipments.
Amazon FBA Delivery: required for deliveries to Amazon FBA centers. Ensures proper carrier selection and helps avoid reconsignment or wait-time fees.
Trade Show: applies to freight moving to or from trade shows, which may involve restricted access, special handling, and additional fees.
Domestic Services
Domestic Services apply based on the nature of the cargo and specific handling or regulatory requirements.
Alcohol License Fee: applies when shipping alcohol. Covers carrier costs related to required alcohol transportation licenses.
Flatbed Tarps: applies when cargo is covered with tarps on a flatbed truck to protect it from weather and environmental exposure.
Fragile – Limited Handling: identifies carriers that minimize handling by bypassing terminals, reducing the risk of damage to fragile freight.
Hazardous Materials: required for shipments containing hazardous goods. Items must be classified with a UN number, proper shipping name, and supported by a Dangerous Goods certificate.
In-Bond Transport: applies to cargo moved under a customs bond. Requires carrier pre-approval, customs authorization, and 24-hour advance notice. Bond remanifesting is not included.
Protect from Freeze: offered in cold weather to prevent freight from freezing. Cargo is wrapped with a thermal blanket. Limited availability and 24-hour notice required.
Unpalletized Loose Boxes: used for loose, non-palletized cargo. Crated shipments are considered palletized and do not require this accessorial.
